New CTBs at Trinity

Nine members of the Trinity Transport, Inc. team have been awarded the Certified Transportation Broker (CTB) designation. This is the highest recognition of excellence in arranging the delivery of freight by all modes of transport.

The CTB certification is conferred by the Transportation Intermediaries Association, a national organization for the third party logistics industry. The program was developed to increase the professionalism and integrity of property brokers. Candidates follow a rigorous course of study and examinations, which test knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements of brokerage, as well as the latest trends in transportation and business management.

"CTB gives people knowledge of how the transportation industry really works," said Jeffrey E. Banning, CTB, president of Trinity Transport. "They learn the finite difference between a private fleet and a common contract carrier. They are tested on their knowledge of rail shipments, claims and financial information. They learn the importance of laws that affect the transportation industry and regulations that impact our industry. They comprehend the roles and responsibilities of the carrier and the shipper."

Trinity Transport, Inc. has a total of more than two dozen certified professionals on its team. Says Banning, "Our commitment to training and education encourages our team mates to "go for the gold" by studying for and maintaining their CTB designation."
