Trinity Transport – Expanding Again

A groundbreaking ceremony initiated construction of an extensive addition to the corporate headquarters of Trinity Transport. The Trinity family of companies includes Trinity Logistics Services in Bridgeville, providing management of shipping and transport as part of the supply chain. Trinity Distribution Services in Seaford has a fleet of vans and refrigerated trailers and specializes in freight consolidation.

The parent company, Trinity Transport, Inc. is one of the top transportation brokerages in the country, connecting shippers with the proper mode of transport to bring their goods to market. The multi-modal approach can use trucks, trains, planes or boats, whichever suit the freight and the timelines best. Freight can be loaded into trucks or containers through arrangements made by the Trinity transportation professionals. Last year, Trinity arranged transport for more than 61,000 loads.

Already a substantial employer in Delmarva, Trinity will have the infrastructure to bring on some 30 additional dispatchers and sales personnel to handle the phenomenal growth of the company. In the last five years, the corporate headquarters on ten acres on Route 13 has had three additions. The firm now employs 71 people, full and part time. An assertive recruitment program has brought dozens of new graduates from local schools like Salisbury University and Western Illinois University in the last two years.

In addition to workspace for 65, the 5,900 square foot addition will contain a state-of-the-art training center, a recreation room, a third kitchen and rest rooms.

"Our team mates work hard and like to play hard," stated Jeffrey E. Banning, CTB, company president. "The new addition will provide an even better work environment in addition to the family-friendly employment policies of our firm."

Banning serves on the board of directors of the Transportation Intermediaries Association, a national organization of transportation brokerages. Through company sponsorship, more than 15 employees have successfully completed the Certified Transportation Broker program of excellence and have been awarded the prestigious CTB designation.

Construction of the new addition is scheduled for completion by October, 2003.
